USA the modern day Roman Empire

Untitled.jpgI had a very interesting experience. At a meeting of a international organization, local meeting I gave a little speech on the importance of understanding symbols like our flag. Many were informed and it gave them something to think about. One person confronted my presentation as being fake info but I assured him that it is the law. We agreed that the the flag standards are set by the president. I said that the president runs the executive branch (military) and we were pledging allegiance to the the military (flag with gold fringe around the edge), not to the republic. He said congress gave away their right to the president. I see this as Caesar crossing the Rubicon. The Republic of Rome ceased to exist and the military generals became dictators. I have a feeling that the Rubicon was crossed with the assassination of J F Kennedy in 1963 and we are just now becoming aware of it. Common Law, The Magna Carta, The Unalienable Rights as declared by the founding fathers of this country must be adhered to. I believe it was Ben Franklin when asked what form of government we had, he replied, "A republic, if you can keep it." We have lost it but hopefully the good parts of it can be salvaged if you can find leaders that are statesmen and not politicians. While we still have freedom to speak, we had better speak up. As the Roman empire fell people who could afford it left the cities and many that could not afford to buy became tenants. It is happening today if you dare look. Rome debased its money by mixing lead and other base metals in the silver. (USA !!! 1964) Barbarians at the Gate???Over extending the military posts and hiring -military contractors, free bread and games like -food stamps and free sports on TV. History does repeat itself - but you only know that if you know history. Orwell,s book 1984 said, -Those who control the past, control the future. History books have been severely altered since I was young. Now I have to question everything. I believe we all should be in a questioning mode. Why is a very valuable word. Because we did it in the past- is not an acceptable answer. Can we trust what we have been told about the past? Only you can decide. Open your eyes for we all have been sleeping (and trusting) too long.

It is perhaps no coincidence that The History of the Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire was published in 1776.

The American Civil War marked the end of the American Republic and the beginning of the American Empire. We haven't had a republic for 150 years.
