Reporting my Crypto Portfolio: The preamble.

in portfolio •  8 years ago

Hello everybody,
Since a few days ago, I am thinking on sharing my crypto’s portfolio here in steemit, with the only aim of improving my knowledge and transmit also my own experience in the field, and thus, get a better investment as well. In this way, I would get different opinions, points of you or comments from you, the steemit community.

To do so, I consulted what others have done already and I thought that would be a good idea to add already ideas of people showing their own portfolio (i.e. @cryptotem).

Let me tell you now that I do not want to overwhelm anyone with a lot information by reading a very long post so, this first post is only the explanation of what I want to share with you very soon.

What I am going to expose?

Well, I have structured my investments in two types of cryptocoins, one called “Long Term Cryptos” and another called “Short Term Cryptos”. As you can understand, the first type includes cryptos on which I believe they have, by one reason or another, potential to grew up and get success in a long term frame (years). In this type I put all the coins that have demonstrated me their value, their consistence and their ability to change the future of the economy. This type has the majority of my invested money and I used to check, correct or, essentially add more investment on a monthly basis. The guideline here is to HODL.

In “Short Term Cryptos” I used to invest a small quantity of money, maybe between 20 or 30% of my total investments, and the aim or, better said, the aims would be different here. For me will be the place on which I will put some interesting cryptos under assessment. Sometimes just for playing (flip-flop), sometimes just to understand their nature and acceptation of the people while understanding as well their technology. Depending on the “behavior” of the crypto, I may decide to consider it sufficiently good to be added in the “Long term Cryptos” type or, by the contrary, remove completely the investment and step out of the crypto. So, “Short Term” is like my own analysis Laboratory, on which I can observe specimens and, by the way, I can play with them. To tell you the truth, It also has a therapeutic property since is refraining the desire of touching the “Long term” coins. The time frame here would be from days to months, and the idea is to “play”, adding, removing or holding if not daily, on a weekly basis.

OK, till this point I think everything is more or less explained, I guess.

What I am going to report then?

Well, basically, the idea is to weekly give a summary of the status of the portfolio. Reporting the percentage of profit (or nonprofit) of the week, the main swaps done, the coins that have been removed and added, explaining why I removed or why I am betting on the new ones… Essentially, the long term sub-portfolio will not change substantially but I am expecting a lot of changes in the short term laboratory.

I think that essentially I have written everything needed as a preamble so I will work on the first Portfolio report right know.
Hope you will enjoy it!
As I said, please let me know your comments and opinions.

Dear @cryptotem! thanks for your interest. Of course, I follow you as well and, as I said, your portfolio article has been as well part of the reason I decided to to report mine.
Your experience and post will be a good reading for me as well.

I'd be a little nervous about publicizing my crypto holdings, as I feel it makes more of a target for hackers. Maybe I'm just being paranoid though.

Me too 😜
I will report only percentages 😋
