Hitler had a lot of ideas on how to make his society better. Horrible, horrible ideas. Some of his talking points are showing up a lot lately in the mainstream. Today I want to talk about one that I have lived and I know a lot about.
"ALL MY TAX MONEY GOES TO THOSE DIRTY FOOD STAMP RECIPIENTS!"
"I COULDN'T BELIEVE IT, I SAW SOMEONE ON FOODSTAMPS BUY A LOBSTER/ PRIME RIB"
Sorry I didn't mean to shout. These are the two things I hear pop up every time I hear taxes or government mentioned lately.
Ok let's get started. Only about 66%* of people pay taxes, so if you don't, then you can stop reading. If you are in the 44% and not in the 12.5%** of Americans on food stamps, you probably get a different form of welfare (i.e. tax refund, other subsidies). You can't complain because you don't pay.
The taxpayer on average pays $36* a year for food stamps and $281*** on war. Why are they bitching about feeding people, but, they shut up about killing them. It seems that the rich just enjoy killing the poor and making the middle class pay for it. The middle class blames their high taxes on the poor, so we might as well kill them too, right?
If killing the welfare recipient is ok, you should see how much we fund the special needs community. Starting to sound familiar yet?
Now, don't get me wrong, I am no fan of food stamps or any of the other welfare programs. They don't help people get up, they make them stay down. Food stamps don't give you enough to feed your family, even processed, crappy foods, for the entire month. Families have to make some money to make up the difference. If they get a job, they lose food stamps, so they get under the table work or sell things to get money without the government knowing. The government loses more tax money. It is a vicious cycle, it never leads to any good.
Most people have never been backed up against the wall of poverty and made their way out unscathed. Welfare is a trap to keep you from success and they turn on you as soon as you show any sign of independence. This is how they keep their funding. If they were effective, there would only need to be a few workers and they couldn't grow into the behemoth organizations they have become.
In short, we should be teaching people to fish, not giving them fish, but, when you fall, we help you back up and if that requires giving you fish while we teach you to code or to do some other job where you can make a good living, then, heres some fish.
The second thing I want to talk about is the whole 'you can't buy that with food stamps' nonsense.
How dare anyone say what anyone else can eat?
Yes, there are people who get on food stamps and also maybe have a small business or a hustle where they make a living and abuse their food stamps.
Should people who make less money have to eat gruel? I don't understand the thinking. Prime rib has a lot of good nutrition, so does lobster for that matter.
Maybe the person you see buying that extravagant meal is celebrating a birthday or the fact they got a job and don't need their food stamps anymore.
Should the poor never celebrate anything? Holidays, anniversaries, Christmas, birthdays, the poor have the same holidays. They should not celebrate anything because they are poor? Sometimes, the celebrations are all that keep a person going. Belittling people because they are poor because of a fucked monitary system is about as Hitleresque as a person can get, try to keep that in check, God is watching.

Don't forget, we are all human, nobody is perfect. We all fall, some get back up, some get a hand up, some get held down. Sometimes the choice is not clear. Be good to each other. Thanks.
