All the technology, networks around the world, unprecedented speed and breadth of communication, unprecedented ways to make decisions, form consensus, be informed, and jointly make things right.
Yet the largest means are siphoned to private interests, and the resultant monopolies of Amazon, Facebook, Twitter etc. only feed into distracting discussions, more consumerism, and constant bickering and arguing.
Not until these means are used to unify will the situation improve, or maybe it is our human nature that forever weighs us down. Shift power from the few to the many, empower the people to more easily band together as workers, consumers, small taxpayers, voters, litigants as large audiences using the public airwaves. The public owns the means to communicate and it is our right to demand it.
