Sunday Supper for none

A couple of weeks ago, an email arrived booking for last Sunday's supper. It was memorable not only because of the advanced notice, but also because of this: "We are not fussy. We eat anything." A cook's dream. When it the time came to determine the menu, the weatherman was consulted. A proper winter's evening was predicted, so slow cooked oxtail made its way on to the menu. The veg option, a hearty bean stew.

And then: "I’m SO sorry but we are going to miss the dinner tonight 😔😰

We had a robbery last night...

We are already back in Cape Town... And ox tail is my absolute favourite dish!" We were so sad for them, but it's a part of life that stuff happens - wherever one is. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome them to our home. They hope to be back, too, and we hope to help dispel the juju.

By then, my presentation of what is quite tasty (meat or veg) will have improved.

Oh, and the veg casserole (a much better appellation) was another successful experiment. To be replicated, photograph and then a recipe.
