Daniel and Nebuchadnezzar: Praise the name of God forever and ever, for he has all wisdom and power. Daniel 2:20

The story of how the prophet Daniel divined a dream that Nebuchadnezzar, King of Babylon, had is a demonstration that neither love nor forgiveness resolve problems, but that the resolution of problems lies in the acquisition of science, knowledge, and ultimately in the education of people. Heresies and cheap spirituality must be avoided if a curious person seeks to enter into the true knowledge of God and his invisible kingdom.
The Book of Daniel relates that this notable prophet was a deportee from the Kingdom of Judah taken to the court of Babylon. The Sacred Texts also relates that Daniel had received a careful education in his country, probably being a member of David's family, as described in Daniel 1:3-4.
But Daniel was not alone in the King's court. There were also his friends Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah; and the Bible describes these remarkable friends in a very interesting way, like David and Solomon at their moment, these friends were filled with the spirit of wisdom, understanding and spiritual discernment: "God gave these four young men an unusual aptitude for understanding every aspect of literature and wisdom. And God gave Daniel the special ability to interpret the meanings of visions and dreams" Daniel 1:17.
Daniel and his friends knew everything about the fear of God (constancy, firmness, devotion, and equanimity) and the wisdom from above and so when Nebuchadnezzar had a dream they had to give proof of all their knowledge. The King had had a dream and had called all the astrologers and wise men of his kingdom to interpret the dream, but the King did not want to reveal what he had dreamed. When his servants were unable to explain the dream, the King ordered an execution. And it was then that Daniel intervened, and asked through the King's commander for a period of time to solve the mystery.
The Bible says that Daniel called upon God, and the creator revealed to him during one night the mystery that the King of Babylon wanted to know. Daniel had received from God the knowledge, that is, the wisdom necessary to solve the problem. The Book of Daniel relates that the prophet praised God in gratitude: "Praise the name of God forever and ever, for he has all wisdom and power" Daniel 2:20. As Daniel did, constantly asking God for wisdom is the main spiritual key to living a prosperous, long, and successful life.
