It has happened again! The moment I was anticipating for since October has finally happened again, and it happened again today!
On October 7th, IU took time out of her busy schedule to make a surprise guest appearance at G-Dragon's last concert for his Asia Tour in Taipei. (By the way, she also came for the first show of this tour in Seoul.) (By the way, she also came for the first show of this tour in Seoul.) Fans went crazy when IU came up on stage to sing "Palette", the title song of her new album which G-Dragon featured in. Then, everyone absolutely lost their calm when G-Dragon snuck up on stage behind her just in time for his rap in the song. The videos show IU fumble adorably for a second and then join in with him. Obviously it was the stuff of dreams to see their beautiful vocal chemistry come together and made both of their fandoms go crazy, hoping that they are dating. (Nothing has ever been confirmed and there is no evidence but I will never stop shipping them!)
Many fancams show both of them awkwardly interact with each other, making the whole interaction even more charming and cute. It's funny to see how IU uses honorifics and treats him with so much respect when it is well known that she was (and probably still is) a huge fan of Big Bang (the famous South Korean boy group which G-Dragon is in). Although her ultimate bias was Taeyang, she also admired G-Dragon a lot in her trainee days. Now, with a Daesang under her belt and the title of being the top of her genre she still remains respectful and that just makes us all love her more. They also sang "Missing You" together, a song of G-Dragon's, because IU said that they could sing any song since she knows all Big Bang songs. (I admire her even more for this as she has remained a loyal and knowledgeable VIP, despite being such a huge celebrity!)
Well, during the concert, IU invited G-Dragon to her own upcoming concert in December, to which he responded unhesitatingly, “OK, I’ll go.” AND HE CAME!! G-Dragon showed up at the Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul while IU was performing "Palette", again just in time to sing his rap. They both talked on stage for some while (I only understood 30% of what they were saying because there were no subtitles in the fancams.)while IU was performing "Palette", again just in time to sing his rap. They both talked on stage for some while (I only understood 30% of what they were saying because there were no subtitles in the fancams.) They were amazing and already so many fancam videos of both of them have been put up on Youtube! It was amazing and one of the best songs of this year and although english subtitles have not been added yet, both fandoms are extremely efficient so I do not think it will take long.
He then performed title single "Untitled 2014" for the audience (very beautifully by the way) because he felt bad that he couldn't come for the comeback promotions due to his tours and schedule. It was amazing and a lot of fans commented how they could see and feel the hurt and pain in his voice and the emotions on his face while he sang. He then lightened up the atmosphere by singing his very famous single "Crooked" and I was very confused whether it was IU's concert or G-Dragon's because of the fanchants. All the fans were so enthusiastic during Crooked. (Clearly IU's fandom supports her and GD being together so seriously they should just date!)
He did seem unwell as he kept on coughing and his voice was hoarse and weird. Clearly it was stressful and straining to his throat to sing and yet he came to make good on his promise to IU. Such an amazing person! He even apologized for because his voice was not in a good condition but fans shouted that it was okay. He even said that he hopes to perform in the future again to make up to the fans since he is sick today.
Please check out the music video of Palette. It's pretty amazing and one of the best songs of this year!
