- O LORD my God, in You I put my trust; Save me from all those who persecute me; And deliver me,
- Lest they tear me like a lion,
Rending me in pieces, while there is none to deliver. - O LORD my God, if I have done this: IF THERE IS INIQUITY IN MY HANDS,
- IF I HAVE REPAID EVIL TO HIM WHO WAS AT PEACE WITH ME, OR HAVE PLUNDERED MY ENEMY WITHOUT CAUSE,
- Let the enemy pursue me and overtake me; Yes, let him trample my life to the earth, And lay my honour in the dust."
Psalm 7:1-5 (NKJV)
• Whatever a man sows he will reap (Galatians 6:7).
- David believed that if he had not done wickedly, God should save him from the hands of those who were against him.
- Every act in life is a seed that will germinate, bear fruits, and be reaped by the person who has sown it.
IN the law of sowing and reaping, what you reap, or the harvest are always much more in number than whatever is sown. - Law of sowing and reaping is a cardinal law that affects every area of life (Genesis 8:22). EITHER good or bad, whatever you sow, you will reap back (Galatians 6:7).
• Every leader usually would have a company of people who are against him or her and the work they do.
- It should be known to you that some people will not agree with you in your style of leadership, even if you are doing it as you are commanded by God—some will still not agree with you.
IN FACT, if you stick to God’s Word and the pattern given you by Him, you may have more people who are against you than those who are agreed with you. - God’s pattern will always be contrary to human’s will, desire, and pattern, thus you cannot but step on people’s toes.
- David pleaded that God should save and deliver him from those who persecuted him (Psalm 7:1).
IF God does not save him, they will tear him like a lion, rend him in pieces, while there is no one to deliver (Psalm 7:2).
• Truth:
There is no one that can deliver like Jehovah—God.
- Without God those who come as enemies tend to finish one.
- The devil wants you to fail in whatever your are assigned to do.
- He has put some people in place, whom he wants to use as instruments against you—that he may get you down.
- Your vision is the reason why you are being fought against By the enemy—the devil.
- Your God-given vision will devastate the devil and his kingdom, he would be affected badly—thus he is against you.
- Through the vision given you by God, people would know the Truth, and the knowledge of the truth will make them free (John 8:32).
AS a result of it, the devil would not want the vision to stand, materialize, or succeed—he would not want it to be fulfilled.
• Iniquity in your hands will give any access to the devil in your Life, and it will handicap God from protecting or preserving you (Psalm 7:3).
- Thus, it is of utmost importance that a servant of God should live holy (John 16:7).
SIN keeps God away from you and gives the devil an opportunity to prey on you, hence: "Be angry, AND DO NOT SIN”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, NOR GIVE PLACE TO THE DEVIL" (Ephesians 4:26,27). - David says if there is iniquity in his hands, if he has repaid evil to him who was at peace with him or has plundered his enemy without cause that God should allow the enemy to pursue and overtake him.
THAT God should allow the enemy to trample his life to the earth and lay his honour in the dust (Psalm 7:4,5). - Now, as a believer, and a Christian leader, can you boldly pray the above mentioned prayer.
IF you cannot pray it, it means you are not living right.
• Truth: We need to understand how to walk with God.
- If God will do something for you, you need to give Him reasons why He should do it: "Put Me in remembrance; let us contend together; STATE YOUR CASE, THAT YOU MAY BE ACQUITTED” (Isaiah 43:26).
- You cannot be living in SIN, disobedient to God’s commands, and expect Him to swing into actions just immediately you call on Him when the enemy, the devil, comes to devour (James 4:4).
- Friendship with the world is enmity with God (James 4:4). YOU cannot be a friend of the world, living your life contrary to God’s Will, Word, and still want God’s goodness and help.
• God wants you to relate with Him intelligibly.
- It is foolishness and unreasonable in God’s sight when you live in blatant sins and rebellions and still want Him to help you at the time of needs or predicaments.
- Note: God may not outright cast His own child away, however, He may want you to suffer the consequences of whatever you did wrong, before He does help you.
- He would allow you to realize your mistakes, repent and ask for forgiveness, before He could come to your aid.
IF God rescued you without allowing you to realize your wrong deeds, you will still go back into it after you may have been delivered from the hand of the enemy. - God does allow and use the enemy to chastise whoever misses it among His children, that such may be corrected and be put on the right path.
WHEN someone suffered the consequences of what they did wrong, they tend to come to their senses (2 Thessalonians 3:14,15). - If you are not allowed to suffer, you may not realize the gravity of the mistake you have made.
- However, God is merciful, there is provision for forgiveness: "If we confess our sins, HE IS FAITHFUL AND JUST TO FORGIVE US OUR SINS AND TO CLEANSE US FROM ALL UNRIGHTEOUSNESS" (1 John 1:9).
“If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, AND TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, then I will hear from heaven, AND WILL FORGIVE THEIR SIN AND HEAL THEIR LAND."
2 Chronicles 7:14 (NKJV)
