Before I knew I was pregnant, I was asked by my very close friend to be the Godmother to her Son, Teon. Of course I accepted – he’s absolutely brilliant and I would do anything for him.
Shhhhh ..
But then I found out I was pregnant and the first thing I thought was ”How do I keep this a secret at the Christening?”. The only appropriate dress I could wear was a blue bodycon style dress, which would for sure show a pregnancy bump!
Phew!
Luckily I was only 11 weeks pregnant when the Christening took place and had managed to overcome any serious morning/daytime sickness, so actually felt back to normal again to attend the day with confidence! Secondly, I only looked a tiny tiny tiny bit swollen in my stomach area (as I have quite a flat stomach, if anything, others’ would’ve just thought I was maybe putting on a bit of weight). Obviously I was conscious of being pregnant, so did find my hand travelling towards my tummy a lot (I guess it’s a part of natural protection of your unborn child), as shown in photos!!
I stood up in heels for my part of the ceremony, sat in the sun and danced on the night without any issues!
The Temptation ..
Knowing that my 12 week scan was approaching, it was very hard to keep our big news a secret, as we would be revealing very soon anyway, but we managed to stick to our plans and stay quiet. People would ask why I wasn’t drinking (not that I’m a big drinker anyway), but the look of lies must have been extremely obvious! Even when you answer “I’m driving”, their reply is “Catch a taxi home”, you just cant win! However since then, a friend told me to use the “I’m on antibiotics” excuse and no one questions you then! I’ll remember that for next time!
Conclusion
All in all it was a brilliant day for my amazing Godson and even though I was 11 weeks pregnant, I felt great! Here are some photos of me and Teon :)
Aww! wonderful! That has got to be tough, keeping it secret!
