Herbal Prep - Making Cucumber Cream

in prepper •  7 years ago  (edited)

Cucumbers are rich in vitamins A, C, and K...and so have been used for centuries in skin care.

The skins contain most of the nutrients, including beta-carotene (anti-oxidant) so it is important to use them in the process. If you cannot buy or grow organic, please scrub the skins well to remove any sprays...

To make a cream...first chop and blend about 6" of cucumber...

Strain it into a large measuring cup...

Press it out (or squeeze if using a cloth bag)...

You should end up with about 1 C of medium green juice...(I rarely measure when I make this, so all amounts are approximate)

To this we add 2 T honey...

1 T Sweet Almond Oil
1 T Grapeseed Oil
2 T Olive Oil

2 Egg Whites...

Then blend everything until smooth and slightly frothy...

Next add in any essential oils, and scents if you choose to...

I usually scoop out coconut oil until I feel it is the right amount, and it turns out to be 100 ml melted...(for a firmer cream melt about 1 - 2 T beeswax with the coconut oil)

Pour the melted coconut oil slowly into the cucumber and oil mix, while blending...then pour into jars. It will firm up as it sets.

This cream is light, slightly fluffy...and feels so refreshing! You can use it as a body moisturizer, AND a face cream...You can even use this cream around the eyes and On the eyelids!

It is super nutrient rich, healing, cancer preventative, balances the skin's natural oils, and reduces blemishes including pigment spots and raised blood vessels...and did I mention it's refreshing? :)

It must be refrigerated, because it is made with a fruit...and should stay fresh for a couple weeks.

Thank you for reading...I hope you enjoyed!

Oh yes...so long as you keep the ratios of liquid oil to soft oil/butters the same, you can sub the oils. Use any oils that have the best nutrients for your skin...or in my case often whatever I happen to have around ;)

Coconut oil can be traded for Shea Butter for super dry skin too...or half & half.
Beeswax traded for cocoa butter, etc...

Just play and have fun :) It is so easy to make...

Thank you!
I love reading your posts. Always so informative.
And i really like natural remedies.

You are very welcome :) Let me know how it comes out...I bet you will love it.

herbal herbs is better medicines than hospitals medicine i don't argue with the doctors but some times herbal is the cheap but most effective medicine...

I agree completely kenjie :) Western medicine does have it's uses and has stopped some very bad diseases, but holistic and herbal are far better in most cases.

herbal medicine is more curable than a scientific medicine some of it not most of it. herbal can easy ease the pain in a min or seconds i think?

It can in some cases, it depends on what the ailment is. Often with herbal remedies we are looking to heal the cause more than treat the symptoms, so the discomfort might take a bit longer to subside...but the long term effect is that eventually the cause is healed so the ailment never appears again.
Most western medicines mask symptoms, but never address the cause, so when the medication is stopped the ailment can easily return. Antibiotics are one of the few that treat the cause, but they have their own set of drawbacks.
