This is a pretty good article on food storage, but it is not focused on prepper storage. The two glaring prepper needs are; concentrating on LONG term storage of food and water; and the hint towards containers, but don't describe those containers. I have found, after some expensive losses; that a 5 gallon buckets lined with black plastic bags is a good 10+ year storage method. I prefer colored buckets, as they are more UV resistant and shield the stored food from some of the light incursion. If you want more than ten years, Mylar bags stored in 5 gallon buckets using the oxygen absorbers are a must.
Add this to this article, and you have a pretty robust food storage system, that covers stored food only. Other prepper supplies for homestead SHTF survival, must be addressed separately.
