3d Printing - more paint#2 - Size Comparison

in print3d •  6 years ago

Someone asked me for a size comparison of the miniature statues from one of my previous posts.

Well, here goes ( before he was painted).

As you can see, he is about as big as a TAU Commander, and more than double the size of a Space Marine. Roughly 7 cm. Good size for either a stand alone statue, or as part of a building or something else which would be cool on the battlefield.

Here you´ve got them again for reference.

Also, you can see that the surface is quite rough. For Statues that´s ok, but not for something that is NOT supposed to be stone. So, I am playing around with some new settings in Cura (3d slicer program) and my first test run with that seems promising. I am trying the settings from 3D Printed Tabletop.

I´ll keep you posted ...

(Anyone know why all photos turn around like this ...)

i have the same problem...i dunno. I usually just edit the picture, and turn it once. but still....

Yeah! Its just that it used to be different.

when you take a photo it has a default orientation which broader than its high. the file then contains a field who tells any program that it is turned. however there is nothing that enforces that a program reads this field. most browsers ignore it. a fix that has worked for me is to open the file in gimp choose rotate when it asks you on opening and then save it again over writing the original. btw you should really consider investing in a resin printer. it is a whole new world for me. especially when it comes to miniatures

Resin Printer: Its on my list ...
Photos: They used to pop up the "normal" way. Its kinda annoying as I normally use my phone for posting here and it simple with just upload the photo and not have to edit them at all.
