Indian Comic Hero Fights Acid Attacks and Sexism

in priya •  8 years ago

Priya, a comic book character, first blew away all expectations when she first appeared Priya’s Shakti in 2014. Priya is a young Indian woman who is raped but, with powers from the goddess Parvati, she transforms into a superhero who fights injustice with a tiger. Her creation was inspired by the murderous gang rape of a female student on a Delhi bus in 2012.

Now, Priya is back in her second book, Priya's Mirror, which shows Priya assisting acid-attack victims around the world. These are graphic and intense cartoons that hold nothing back. They aim to teach the younger generation, especially boys, about the dangers of sexism and Patriarchy.

yeah just the boys, cause equality right? -smh-
So sexist you are.

Please read the article first before making assumptions about me or my motives. "Teaching boys" is the stated goal of the campaign. However, the comics never "blame" individuals, unlike you. This is my last comment on this thread.

Why not teaching everyone? women rape at the same rate as men.

In short, men are raped by women at nearly the same rate women are raped by men.

I have not blamed anyone for anything.
