A SHIFT TO AN ABNORMAL EQUILIBRIUM POINT

Basically, the level of optimal satisfaction of basic human wants is not achievable for over two thirds of the human population, developed and poor nations combined. Forget the statistics of good roads, railways and hospitals, very few of our survival needs are satisfied by these things.
When Abraham Maslow gave a detailed description of the hierarchy human wants, He exclusively pointed out the importance of satisfying every level of wants systematically. A self-sustenance need for one person may be a bowl of soup, to the next person, it may be a two-hour internet connection. If any of these wants are not satisfied, it leads to an equal amount of discomfort/pain.
Currently, satisfaction in global economics cannot be put on any common curve and fit perfectly, it is near impossible. When the Soviet Union opted to forego the production of food for the people and produce weapons instead, the results were catastrophic for the common citizen. This is now being replicated on a global scale. The problem with a global crisis is that it tends to form a normal. Human beings have basically come to terms with our current predicament because everyone seems to say it is ok.
Focus on technological advancement has taken over the love for human life, this is why the government would rather invest in contraceptives than quality medication. Yes, this is happening on a global scale, we are more focused on reducing the number of births than actually saving those who are already born. This is a state of imbalance on a global spectrum that has been accepted as an equilibrium despite the high level of dissatisfaction on both axes of the curve.
