In my village there are several woven bamboo craftsmen, they are all from the elderly, they make plaits such as; bamboo fan, bamboo geribig, winnowing, rice field hat, wakul and there are still some bamboo crafts made.
They are tenacious and diligent in weaving bamboo slices into a useful craft for many people. Not many people can make plaits like them because it takes practice and skill and requires a fairly long time process to become a useful craft. Here I will share a little story about the winnowing craft.
The mention of the name Tampah in Indonesian and in the daily language of each region is different, for example in Sundanese in my village, Tampah is often referred to as " Nyiru " . Tampah is a multifunctional equipment that is commonly used by all groups, especially housewives and traditional snack traders. Not only that, winnowing is usually used as a container or place to put vegetables so that the vegetables don't rot when they are going to be processed. In addition, winnowing is also commonly used to dry things such as drying rengginang dough, opaque and salted fish. Then if we go to traditional markets, we will definitely find traders who use winnows as a place to peddle various snacks they sell, such as cakes cetil, gethuk, orog-orog, fake, blendung, etc.
In addition, the tampah can also be used as an alternative tool to carry snacks at a celebration, especially at the besanan event. If the available trays are insufficient, why choose the tampah?, because the size of the shape is larger than the tray so it can fit many dishes Tampah is also often used by housewives as a tool to clean rice from dirt such as rice lice, rice wards and small stones so that rice is clean when cooked, this activity in Sundanese is called "convict beas".
Tampah craftsmen are now starting to disappear because there are many winnowing products made of plastic which may be more practical and are widely sold in the market. During this pandemic, many employees have been laid off so that there is unemployment everywhere, while humans are living beings who need food and other necessities to survive, if they don't work, there will be no income but expenses will still be there.
But if we rely on work from outside, it will be difficult, especially during this Corona virus pandemic. So how do we as humans survive? Moreover, we will enter the industrial revolution 4.0 where most work will be done using robots which may work faster than humans.
Therefore, it would be better if we innovate or have more skills to create something, for example, making woven winnows, although now there are a lot of plastic cones produced by factories, but not a few people who prefer to use local products such as woven bamboo tampah, besides that if we like local products, it will be better and can lift the economy of the people in Indonesia, and can reflect a love for local products while maintaining their sustainability. Here are the steps to make woven bamboo tampah;
1. Prepare equipment, such as bamboo rope, bendo, rope and knife 2. Make a whole wilah or bamboo which is split into several parts 3. Then wilah the finished bamboo It's in irrat
4. After being sliced then in the expression until smooth 5. After it is smooth, then the slices are woven and rengges 6. Then the woven bamboo is in the wengku and in the jet 7. And finally the winnowing is tidied up and ready for sale.

n the manufacture of woven bamboo winches, bamboo ropes are used because they are easier to shape. Usually in a day, the craftsmen in my village can make 5 to 8 winnows per day according to the ability of the craftsman. Tampah bamboo is usually sold at a price of Rp. 15,000 per piece.
