Building the '69 Nova SS

Next in the series of Level 5 car builds.

There was an episode of frustration with the glass which caused a pause in the project. A short break and a little help from dad - now we are back on track and headed for completion.

Last post left us with the rear suspension and ladder bars left to dry.

Here we can see the body work and paint shop events happening as I observe the progress. The glass had to be removed and cleaned after some glue mishaps. But the safety glass is now set and the mating of the chassis, interior and body is set to happen.

As we said before, there is a lot of paint time and dry time before each part can be added. Also, this is a first time solo project - first time paint project for this teenager.

Now the drive shaft is installed and the wheels are ready to carry the chassis. More work was done to install upper and lower radiator hoses, front sway bars, and steering linkage.

The level of detail is apparent even to the untrained eye

I did not get a picture of the interior color scheme prior to the body installation, but here is a close shot.

I was, however, able to get a clear shot of the undercarriage as the glue dries. This is a bad-ass ride, with a posi-4/11 rear end, traction bars, and factory dual exhaust to quiet the 396 big block.

Join us next time as we finish up the bumpers and take a whatsapp vote on which hood to use. Both are coming out of paint now and they choice will be made via school friends!

Un estupendo trabajo muy lindo compartir este hobby @sponge-bob

A great job very nice to share this hobby @sponge-bob

Saludos a tus hijos.

Awesome time goes by! When I was little with my dad, we made models of small-scale planes. We also worked with paint and glued some pieces with glue.

It is a nice activity to do between dad and son and serves to convey for parents to show their children their passion and certain skills.

When we came to live in Bahía Blanca from the Federal Capital, in Argentina we lost a large part of the prototypes that we had assembled. A real shame

Puzzles and models are good for the brain, teaching organizational skills to be used in all areas of life. I used to build real cars and my work area had to be orderly.

It is hard to keep all the models - even harder to get rid of them because each one is a memory of a certain month and year. For that reason, I choose to put them on the blockchain!

Awesome!, i really like this kind of hobby, i dream with practice this. Seens so fun.

It's getting spectacular. really the exterior paint is made in detail
