I think it is the opposite now, as a lot of the large circle jerks have been broken up. Trending isn't flooded with $200 posts about giving away a $0.01 Steem Monsters card, more good content producers are being curated. Bid Bots are losing their power over the network.

Haven't looked at trending lately...at least not since someone made thirty bucks talking about three bags of shit hanging from a ceiling, all compliments of the new circle jerk. We can have that right?...a new circle jerk to go along with the new steem?

If you goto the user, yes, we post a weekly burn and not much else from the master account.
https://stemgeeks.net and you will see all the content. Specifically look at trending and who is being rewarded and look at new and see who isn't.
