Growing in Jesus: For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ´Yes´ in Christ. 2 Corinthians 1:20

The second epistle to the Corinthians was probably written by Paul in the city of Ephesus, before he visited the Corinthian Church on his third missionary journey. After some cordial greetings from Paul and Timothy, this letter begins with the exposition of the importance of the missionary activity, those who carry the word of our Lord Jesus to evangelize the unbelievers cannot follow the criteria of human wisdom, as the Greek pagans did, but the divine inspiration that comes from God: "Our conscience testifies that we have conducted ourselves in the world, and especially in our relations with you, with integrity and godly sincerity. We have done so, relying not on worldly wisdom but on God's grace" 2 Corinthians 1:12.
Paul recounts the difficulties that the founding of the Corinthian Church brought, but that never this situation discouraged him but rather reinforced his faith in God, because the Lord in his mercy (compassion, kindness) and love provides. Following Jesus implies a clear commitment, there is no place for lukewarm Christians.
The same apostle explains to us in the second epistle that in front of Jesus we are friends or enemies, and when we decide to be good friends of Jesus, we always respond affirmatively to the dictates of the spirit, the christian faith implies the firmness that is born of the spiritual gift of fear of God:
"But as surely as God is faithful, our message to you is not ´Yes´ and ´No.´ For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by us—by me and Silas and Timothy—was not ´Yes´ and ´No,´ but in him it has always been ´Yes.´ For no matter how many promises God has made, they are ´Yes´ in Christ. And so through him the ´Amen´ is spoken by us to the glory of God. Now it is God who makes both us and you stand firm in Christ" 2 Corinthians 1:18-21.
