The Minnows' Cry For Help-#OperationEndMinnowExit

There has been a drastic decline in the number of posts on steemit for obvious reasons. Initially steemians spent quality time to research before coming up with a post, but these days nobody spends that quality time again to get nothing in return.

The basic problem of a new steemian or existing steemian are basically these: # What to post, # how to make a "stand-out-post for curation. These days, nobody cares about that anymore for there is no use for quality on steemit. I have seen a couple of these sub-standard posts lying around the steemit ocean.

Life is so harsh and distressing that people who can manufacture romance or conjure up fantasy are like oases in the dessert: Everyone flocks to them.

There is great power in tapping into the fantasies of the masses, this could be seen in different social medial e.g. Facebook where there is emotional gratification in guise the of likes for the content added to the community, Twitter where you also get emotional gratification for your tweets been on the trending tweets or likes.

This is not the case with steemit, #Steemit as I was made to understand was a decentralized social media designed to reward people for creating original works (information, videos, opinions, photographs etc.) via upvotes which translates to digital tokens (SBD/STEEM) which could be converted to FIAT currency.

Many steemians signed up on the blockchain for content reward which looked promising initially when they made a debut appearance, some newbies who were lucky made away with a good number of SBDs in their introduceyourself post, but after that, they witnessed the “cent phase”. Some, lingered on while some gave up and have run back to where they could get a tangible gratification (emotional reward) for their time spent.

The truth is often avoided because it is ugly and unpleasant. Never appeal to truth and reality unless you are prepared for the anger that comes from disenchantment …

The truth is this, I see so much steem and energy channeled into promoting steemit to gain visibility, every day I see massive campaigns with the end point of recruitment of prospective steemians. But I have paused to ask myself this pertinent question. Why bring in more people into a community, lavish them with a single dose of love, and subject them to hard times and watch them leave?

I think it’s a penny wise, pound foolish kind of strategy. We need each other to survive on this platform. By not rewarding good content, we are discouraging people from making good posts and subjecting community curators to have a hard time fishing out quality works.

Steemit is really a true picture of the “Nigerian real world” where you struggle through every single hurdle in life and you get a paltry reward for your labor.

Let’s all try to make the #STEEM ecosystem attractive for prospective #steemians to be attracted to, for there is enough room for everyone to be great on #steemit. Let’s make each other’s stay worth while on the #steemiverse

I agree with you to a point bro, as decentralized as Steemit is, is also a business to some people, a stock exchange market to some where they can buy steem at low price and sell, each with is own point of view, for the decline in steemit post, wait till when sbd rise, you'll have another story to tell by then.

The present cost of sbd in the market is also a contributory factor.

Steemit will gradually turn to 'game of thrones "
