How much money can I make on Steemit using bots? How much investment do you need? Which ones should I use?

You can’t make any money using bots on Steem any longer. The Economic Improvement Proposal implemented in Hard Fork 21 in August 2019 killed the bid bot industry.

In my view, two changes introduced in HF 21 killed the bots: 1) the separate downvote pool that allows everyone to downvote 2.5 at full power per day without it affecting their upvoting power. That led to a change in the culture. Trying to buy a vote with positive return on investment is now a non-starter. Any post having pending rewards greater in value than a bid, will be voted squarely to negative ROI territory, 2) the 50/50 reward split between authors and curators. It became more profitable to look for quality posts to upvote in hopes of finding them first and gaining good curation rewards. In fact, most of the former bid bot accounts are now curators constantly searching for quality posts to upvote.

You can’t make money using bid bots. But you can buy votes and decline rewards or burn them in order to promote your work. That is, you’ll be paying money buy ad space in Trending, which is exactly how bid bots were originally supposed to be used.
