As the October #Steem Graphics Month moves into Day 13, I wanted today to share with you one of the reasons why I decided to launch the Campaign.
Tomorrow will see the end of the first two weeks of the Campaign and it has been an absolute pleasure to see so many awesome Graphics now being produced and shared to #Steemit and especially the #Promo-Steem Project.
Importance of a quality opening Graphic in a Blog Post
Over the past few months I have seen a remarkable increase in the quality of Graphics that are being used in the opening images of a number of Blog Posts and as the title of today's update suggests, I strongly believe that the importance of a quality opening Graphic in a Blog Post should not be missed.
With so many now putting so much effort into their opening images that appear in everyone's feed, the quality of these Graphics has remarkable improved.
Blog Posts that are focusing on the Marketing and Promoting of #Steem have a split second to capture the imagination of the reader and a creative and imaginative opening Graphics stand a better chance to attract more readers.
More Readers potentially could mean more Votes.!!
October #Steem Graphics Month was launched primarily to reach out for more Graphic Designers to showcase their artistic and creative skills on #Steemit but I also wanted to set aside a month to talk about the importance of having a steady flow of quality Graphics being shared on #Steemit.
With so many Blogs Posts to pick and choose from and only a limited number of votes that are available to us all, we all want more readers to our Blogs and a regular flow of quality Graphics shared on #Steemit potentially could mean more Votes to your Posts.!!
Your opening Graphic is your calling card
As the #Steem Blockchain and Ecosystem continues to grow, so will the competition for the votes and therefore the #Steem to be distributed.
With what is essentially a limited number of #Steem available for distribution, the competition for these votes will only intensify as the Blockchain grows.
If you are focusing on the Marketing and Promoting of #Steem and #Steemit and have decided to focus on and make this the Core Activity of your Blog, I recommend spending as much time as possible on your opening Graphics.
Think of the first Graphic of each of your Posts as your calling card when out selling.

Yes. Graphics design is very important here. Especially I don't know much about graphics designing but I try my best to design my cover photo for my posts and also try to match it with the theme of the community I am sharing my post with. This is incredibly important.
