Newbies often make the mistake of following whales to beg for STEEM or SDB which feel is wrong.
When i joined steemit,I joined having the "GET RICH QUICK mentality". Joining steemit using this mentality crashed with loads of disappointment and discouragement.
@penauthor came to my rescue when he took me through some basics things on steemit. Soon my orientation about steemit began to change. I began steeming because I now enjoy doing this at my liesure.
Things became sweeter when I saw the likes of @tojukaka and @ejemai was doing with the steemit community.
I was stunned by this post by @ejemai
It made me understand that steemit isn't all about me and the benefits i could get but about what i can offer to people through the community. I believe everyone is responsible for everything that happens on steemit
Think beyond yourself and see steemit as a tool you can use to affect your community because steemit is a community on its own.
As we speak logistics are being put in place to organize steem meet up at Sapele where i live and Otefe where i school
I went through a research on numbers of whales and i was shocked that majority of them ain't active anymore. We can build steemit to take over the whole the social media.
During my research, i did a compilation of some active whales users
It's a give away to newbies to get good mentors here on steemit
