Weekly update on steempeninsula voting activity and logo contest announcement.

in promosteem •  7 years ago  (edited)

It has been few day ago since @steempeninsula launched and we have been doing quite fine ensuring things are done according to our blueprints. We have decided to publish our voting activities twice a week to help us keep track of our performance in the community through feedbacks and observations. Also hoping to channel supports within our capacity to where they are needed.

Our voting exercise began on 26th of February with majority up-votes apportioned to members and few other non-members between the said period to 1st March with total of 43 up-votes.

From March 2, we commenced fully achieving a total of 22 up-votes for the day. Below are the screenshots to show the stats as extracted from steemworld.org .

As at March 4, we have achieved a total outgone up-vote of 120. Which means we have curated/distributed rewards across 120 posts. The reward distribution is based on the influence we have in the community equivalent to Steem power. The more steem power we have , the more we will be able to provide support in this perspective.

We hope to improve better on this.
Feel free to support us by delegating to our account @steempeninsula or in anyway you deem fit.

LOGO CONTEST ANNOUNCEMENT.

In our previous introduction post, a contest to make a logo for @steempeninsula was announced. So far we have only two contestants and their work seems very good.

Logo designed by @the.chiomz.

Logo designed by @jetto.

The judges however resolved that both logos are good but do not depict what we actually expect. We will therefore award 20% upvote each at 100%VP to the contestants for their efforts. We do appreciate them a lot and uploading the logos shall reserve us full right to use them in ways we want for few hours to appreciate their effort after which we drop the right to use them.

We will make use of the logos until shortly forn few hours when a new logo contest will be announced hoping that the contestants understand our need to help them improve should they intend to participate in the upcoming contest.

WITNESS VOTING.

As part of our duties to support the steem blockchain lifewires, @steempeninsula has voted witnesses, not just our choice but as essential and merited as it is to encourage the witnesses to keep doing what they do right.

Awesome. However, if the rules were changed, isn't it fair to ask the contestants if they are satisfied with the new rules since it involves the use of their intellectual property? IMG-20180305-WA0002.jpg

The image above somehow makes it look like the creator of the image (@the.chiomz) won. What do you think?

Hello @owenmaya,

A disclaimer had earlier been made in this post to use these images for few hours before we drop it.
Author should make a disclaimer at the entrance into the contest.
Be aware this is contest, and as such, entering into the contest does not guarantee your winning. Moreso, uploading any image of your work automatically and impliedly award the organiser full right to make use of the images in ways he deem fit, otherwise, you won't have to participate or rather make a clause restraining the organiser from using such image if you lose in the contest, perhaps that isn't a good practice.

We hope that you reconsider what the right etiquette connotes.

I don't really understand these things. Apparently the author does not either since he/she claims to be shocked by this development. I guess you are free to use the image for as long as you want if she did make a disclaimer. But if she did not, well, I guess you know more about the intricacies of your contest and I wish you well.

We as well stated in the post to reward them for the time spent to put that up. That amount to giving enough consideration to reserve the right to use the image

Oh, thank you.

I noticed it too and I was shocked!

Kudos to you and wish you well. You've done a great job so far and your kindness goes a long way! May @steempeninsula be great! #steemon!

Hi, I have tried to place your channel in Discord but the link for this does not answer me and only the discord channel tells me "there are no text channels". Could you help me access your channel from discord?
