Vimeo support for Steemit!

Vimeo

A lot of video content is hosted on Youtube these days. What a lot of people don't know is that a lot of high quality videos are hosted at Vimeo. The reason why I host most of it on Vimeo is because of it's quality content. A lot of my fellow visual effects artist are actually over at vimeo.

If embedding Youtube is a matter of pasting a Youtube link into the text editor how hard would it be to create the same for Vimeo links? @steemychicken1 wrote a nice little article on how to embed a vimeo link in a screenshot. The embed code for a Youtube link and a Vimeo look incredibly identical:

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/WxhOi4NCOWY" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen&gt;&lt;/iframoe>

<iframe src="https://player.vimeo.com/video/139330779" width="640" height="360" frameborder="0" webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen allowfullscreen></iframe>

Hopefully @ned and @dan might read this and consider embedding it soon! A lot of professional video content is hosted on vimeo, hopefully making it available here will make it more attractive for vimeo content makers to write here. You guys must be incredibly busy improving the platform, hopefully this is a feature of the future!

I fully support this idea.

Me too. I love Vimeo content.

Also on board with this idea. In general, I find that Vimeo content tends to be more substantive than Youtube.

I agree, also no in video commercials!

Vimeo video compression quality is far superior to youtube. As a filmmaker I work hard to insure quality in my shoots, therefore I want to present them in the best possible manner online.

It is only logical that steemit would support this considering they are so highly supportive of the arts. As it is now I am forced to utilize these work-around solutions which forces viewers to leave the site to view the work. I would love for them to develop a solution for us steemers who care about quality content!

Totally agree, so far i switched to youtube just for presenting work on this site.

There's a big difference in quality and effort in Vimeo. This is a great idea.

Good to hear your feedback! Love to hear more people are behind the idea.

I'm constantly scrolling through posts looking for new ideas to back up and/or collaborate with others to propose or develop new ideas to bring to not only steemit community but he crypto world in general.

Yus! I want this! I have my second post up now with Vimeo and really wanted to embed it so people can just sort of enjoy everything right there in the post.
