Prosume: the 1st European energy exchange platform in the world intent on revolutionizing the way all of us buy and sell our energy. The Swiss non-profit organization has developed a blockchain-based platform that gathers likeminded 'prosumers' who want to exchange their energy in community models that don't yet exist but, in a very near future, will.
A term first coined in 1980, prosumers are consumers who also produce: and in a truly democratic world, individuals and companies will be free to interact with each other based on variables that at present are not made available to all.
How the idea works:
Renewable energy sources are becoming more accessible everyday, and the consumers of today will one day be able to produce their own energy. Prosume will build future energy community models by connecting power producers, consumers and utility companies on its platform, giving individuals the choice of their energy sources at more efficient costs. Through the blockchain technology, the platform will implement peer-to-peer exchange policies in order to promote decentralization and empower energy communities.
