Spiritual protection: Who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation

The apostle Peter dedicates part of his first letter to explain in what consists the spiritual protection: "In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God's power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time." 1 Peter 1:3-5.
Thomas Aquinas explains that God predestines man from eternity, that is, God exists from an eternal present, we cannot apply temporal concepts to God. The eternity is the possession of all time, past, present, and future. And as a consequence of predestination to achieve salvation, God grants spiritual protection to the blessed (spiritual gift of eternal life, John 17:3).
An example of spiritual protection is the father of Jesus, Joseph, who receives in a dream the visit of an angel warning him that he must go to Egypt with the child because King Herod wants to kill him (Matthew 2:13-15), thus fulfilling a prophecy of the prophet Hosea (Hosea 11:1).
Lord Jesus also shows us what spiritual protection is, by answering correctly, guided by the spirit of wisdom, in the face of a trap set by the Pharisees, who ask him if they should pay taxes to Caesar or not in Luke 20:20-25.

To understand the essence of beatitude is to understand the mystery of spiritual protection. The beatitude, that is living the spiritual gifts inherited from God, brings with it a series of blessings: prophecy, vision, listening; these combined gifts constitute God's guidance. The god's guidance is the same spiritual protection that guarantees beatitude, that is why adult faith is called security in God.
