Just a thought....

As an old proverb says, "Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime."

I bet you would be in agreement with the old proverb.
Practically speaking, this is not entirely correct.

You help a man in need from his dire situation. After that you teach him with your wisdom on how to go on with his life.

That's more of a "common sense" way of approaching it.

You don't know what the other person has been through.
His emotional stability, mindset and confidence might not be there during the time he needs the help.
Your words of wisdom won't be enough and will be a waste.
So, he needs that help right away.

Once help is provided, they slowly regain their confidence and open up to the world again.
An opportunity to help them find the road and teaching a new skill will come.

That, makes more sense than rushing the words of wisdom to these guys.
Well, just a thought...
