Isaiah and the Providence: The LORD has chosen Cyrus as his ally. He will use him to put an end to the empire of Babylon. Isaiah 48:14

The prophet Isaiah in his second book taught how God in his wisdom and perfect providence moves and inspires human hearts to realize his plan over the world. The Babylonians, according to the Bible's account, had treated the Israelites with great cruelty to ensure their empire with the destruction of Jerusalem, but just as this empire arose, it also collapsed. As Jeremiah had prophesied in his letter, the Jews, because of their sins, had to remain in Babylon for up to seven generations; but once this time was up, hope and change arose.
Another empire was to arise and replace the ancient empires of Babylon and Assyria, the Persian empire with Cyrus the Great. And with these words, the prophet Isaiah announced the arrival of Cyrus the Great, a benevolent man willing to establish justice and righteousness in his domains. "Come, all of you, and listen: The LORD has chosen Cyrus as his ally. He will use him to put an end to the empire of Babylon and to destroy the Babylonian armies" Isaiah 48:14.
And the Second Book of Isaiah said something else about this great ruler, God had decided to make him prosper, and give him success in all his projects:
"I, even I, have spoken;
yes, I have called him.
I will bring him,
and he will succeed in his mission" Isaiah 48:15.
Cyrus the Great as presented by Isaiah was an example of what it means to be a benefactor of humanity. Cyrus resembled at some point to what it means to be a redeeming messiah by fulfilling the designs of providence. The liberation of the Jews by Cyrus the Great shows how God in his benevolence despite the sins of man, is always willing to correct and teach to show the correct path. Providence as an invisible hand, personified in this case by Cyrus, shows men that progressive path towards the wisdom of God.
