Psychiatric Coercion Is Wrong

in psychiatry •  6 years ago

We must outlaw psychiatric slavery. Psychiatrist Thomas Szasz is correct; psychiatric coercion is medicalized terrorism. Szasz wrote about 35 books; consider reading some of them. Only consensual psychiatry should be legal. Psychiatric coercion should be outlawed.

Suicide prohibitions, civil commitment, and the insanity defense are the majority of what keeps psychiatric coercion legal. If adults cannot be forced and confined to not to engage in suicide, and if the insanity is banned outlawed, then nonconsensual psychiatry will mostly stop existing. Then perhaps the psychiatric survivor movement will stop increasing in size.

Consider reading the book Anatomy of an Epidemic by Robert Whitaker. It explores in depth how psychiatric drugs might be worsening problems they are supposed to help alleviate.
