Psychoeducational guide for the preparation in gender violence of the Basic Health Teams.

An investigation was carried out with the Basic Health Teams of the Basic Group of Work 3 of the polyclinic XX Anniversary of Santa Clara during 2016, with the aim of proposing a psychoeducational guide for the preparation in gender violence of the doctors and nurses who work in them.
Starting from a mixed research approach, a sequential design was used, developing two stages of research. The first was aimed at determining the educational needs of professionals around gender violence, using a questionnaire and a semi-structured interview to collect the data. The presence of a limited definition of the phenomenon, of the contexts in which it occurs, as well as its different manifestations and consequences was noted, highlighting the presence of myths around it. In addition, they have little experience in identifying these cases, limiting the attention they offer to them.
From the previous stage, the second had the purpose of designing the psychoeducational guide to contribute to the preparation in gender violence of the Basic Health Teams. It was structured in three parts, in which general elements about gender violence were addressed, the responsibility of professionals faced with this phenomenon and finally, recommendations were included to contribute to the attention to this problem from their profile.
Finally, conclusions were reached and recommendations were offered that guide future studies.
