Hello! Today I would like to tell you about how to protect your voice.

The human voice is very fragile and needs careful attention to it. There are vocal folds in our throats. When they close, there is a sound - a voice. And if you do not take care of it, strain it with a constant speech load, eat cold after hot tea or long running, shout outside or sing loudly songs, especially in the cold, folds become inflamed and the voice becomes harsh and hoarse. It is necessary to temper your body and take care of your voice.

In speech therapy there is such a thing as "voice hygiene." In fact, it is not only a concept, but also a whole section of science, dealing with:
• studying the functions of the vocal apparatus, its physical capabilities,
• causes of disorders and diseases of the vocal apparatus,
• drawing up and formulating laws, rules, norms of professional voice behavior and regime, the observance of which provides a person with a healthy vocal apparatus.

Each of us daily uses the speech apparatus, but does everyone know at least the elementary rules of voice hygiene?
Basic rules for voice hygiene:

After taking hot or cold food and drinking can not immediately go out, a sharp temperature drop can damage the vocal folds. You must wait in the room a few minutes. If you have already taken to the street, then keep silent for at least 2-3 minutes.

Do not talk in the cold, try not to run and walk fast in the frosty air, so as not to deepen your breathing. In general, avoid cooling and hypothermia, as well as heat, stuffiness, dust.

Watch your shoes, especially when it is damp and cold outside. It should always be comfortable and fit the weather. The same goes for clothes. Headgear should be light and warm.

Breathe, if possible, only through the nose. It protects us from dust and infections.

When you are ill, speak less unnecessarily and remain silent. Excessive speech load in this case can lead to loss of voice.

Do not eat or drink very cold or hot, strong or carbonated, too spicy or salty. This will help avoid irritation of the mucous membranes of the mouth and pharynx.

Do not shout or sing too loudly a song, especially in cold weather.

Distribute the voice load evenly throughout the day.

Do not smoke or drink alcohol. Harmful habits adversely affect the state of the vocal apparatus.

If you feel that you have problems with the organs of the vocal apparatus - contact your phoniatrist for help.

And to be always strong and healthy every morning do exercises and temper your body. Water, air and solar procedures, gymnastics, gymnastics, various sports (swimming, tennis, etc.), a good daily hour walk is a guarantee of a healthy voice and the whole organism.
