Fabulous : The App to make your morning routine dreams come true !

in psychology •  8 years ago

Hi everyone, I'm back !

I know, I know. I've been gone for 2 months.
I am (and this is an enormous understatement) easy to distract. (and that doesn't even take into account how easy it is for me to completely forget about something... hopefully my new daily Google Inbox Reminders will kickstart my memory daily as to the existence of Steemit from now on XS)

I'm going to get back in the fray by making an App recommendation for all of you who have always wanted to give a morning routine a go. So here goes !

Fabulous - Motivate me

Given my lengthy absence, it is pretty clear how unreliable I am when it comes to setting up any kind of routine for myself ! XS

But Fabulous is starting to change that !
For the last few years, it's been able to keep me going with a basic morning routine (for those with more willpower, and the capacity to remember things long-term, unlike me, it should be able to forge a truly powerful morning routine !).

It's insistence on starting small (drink water as soon as you wake is your only task for the 3 first days) and it's reliance on actual behavioral science makes it pretty unique (though apparently Maneesh Sethi and his Pavlok team are working on creating a competitor, Pavlok Rise though their use of a bracelet that shocks you if you don't follow through is a completely different approach).

I LOVE the existence of multiple "journeys" to help you go from starting a simple morning routine to creating more advanced physical and mental exercise routines !!

This is basically how the app looks first thing in the morning (on the right, the left shows how you can adjust the alarms, having different alarms for different days, etc...).

There. I hope you try it out !

Have a good day !

The idea of the app is really nice and along with the simple and clean design it can work. Creating different journeys (or scenarios) is pretty great, but using a different journey everyday can be weird. As creatures of habit we most likely stay at one journey each morning because it's your routine. How are your journey's gonna motivate people to switch it up? :)

A journey in Fabulous is made to be established over a month or longer.
Once, for example, you've established a morning routine and can do it pretty effortlessly, then you can go on to the Exercise Journey, that will help you establish an Exercise Routine gradually, while giving you daily "letters" on how to keep motivated, what exercise routines have proved popular for others, etc...

Sorry if I wasn't clear on what exactly the journey's were XS
