When born, we enter a world that is not ours.
Created by those born before us, our lives begin as visitors in someone else's world.
As we grow, we begin to craft a world around us, choosing what brings us joy and how we want to weave our own personal tales.
With practice we can begin to shift paradigms, teach others, and make large scale change in our environment.
So how is it that we do this with tact, elegance and most importantly, with the most joy in our hearts??
This is how I have chosen to show up in life, let me know how YOU choose to live.
I try to spend the majority of my doing things that bring me joy. If something does not make me happy inherently just by doing it , you can bet I am not doing that thing very often.
This is my baseline, my status quo.
If I have no plans, no responsibilities, no limitations, I guarantee you I will wake up, spend some time collecting myself and then ask myself the question ... what sounds like the most exciting thing I could do ....
usually, I go ahead and do that thing (I am getting better)
The next level of my conscious decision making
is related to achieving large scale goals. While possible, the percent chance of completion is inversely related with the complexity of a goal. For this reason I choose to plan, strategize and work intentionally in order to achieve my goals. When I work this way I usually reside in the frontal lobe and work my way backwards, stopping by my inhibitory center to make sure that no one is on the clock and then letting the machina spin, working my way towards my goal, task by task.
Another part of my livingness
is consciously working for the benefit of something other than me. While my ratio of self service to selfless service is highly variable, I try to make this a part of my life for multiple reasons.
- It feels good to give
- The world is kind of fucked and we need to work together to make it better
- If you are always focused on yourself, you may be a douchebag
Money is not everything in life

Great post. Yes instead of focusing on all the negatives of this world, I find the positives. I try to pay a genuine compliment to at least 1 person a day, and pray that whatever I do, it will be according to God's will. I do believe that my relationship with God is my driving force and this gives me peace. I fortunately love my life.
