It depends on how you learn best, we each learn in different ways. Some people are visual, others auditory, and others learn by reading. I learn best by actually doing something and seeing how the whole process works. I don't personally like memorizing steps because sometimes I can find a better process for doing something by experimenting. So, I would say that it depends on how you personally learn best!
