The Book of Proverbs in the Bible with its phrases teaches us the importance of the edifying and uplifting mentality to achieve happiness, joy, peace, and well-being. In the sapiential books, man acts between two oppositions, foolishness and wisdom invite us to live with them, and men with their freedom have to choose. In this choice, the man plays all his intelligence, because wisdom is beautiful, ordered, farsighted, kind, and compassionate, while foolishness is ugly, problematic, destructive, and chaotic. Two mentalities, two paths, two retributions.
This is how the Book of Proverbs teaches us the call of wisdom:
"Wisdom has built her house;
she has set up its seven pillars.
She has prepared her meat and mixed her wine;
she has also set her table.
She has sent out her servants, and she calls
from the highest point of the city,
´Let all who are simple come to my house!´" Proverbs 9:1-4.
And this is of great importance because the Bible also tells us that there is a time for everything:
"There is a time for everything,
and a season for every activity under the heavens" Ecclesiastes 3:1.
What happens to people at critical moments, the sages wondered, where lifestyles are put to the test?; and it is in these moments that we see if what men have built is built on good foundations or not. That is why the Bible gives us this quote: "When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever" Proverbs 10:25.
There is no greater good for man than the practical intelligence, that is, wisdom, the sapiential books teach us, because when everything is tested, it is the good decisions, the assertive decisions that save man's life. King Ezekiah during the siege of the tyrant Sennacherib, ruler of the Assyrian empire, had to face an enemy in inferior conditions, but with the wisdom of God he made the right decisions and came out triumphant, the wisdom of God saved Ezekiah and his people.
Wisdom blesses man and those who put their trust in her do not see their hope disappointed in the critical moments.
