I don't even know what to say about this one, except to stare at it and scratch my head.
I'm not sure what the fuck is going on with the magnetosphere/pause this afternoon! The weirdness starts around 1600 and goes until almost 1800, The magentopause is all lit up on the backside of earth, away from the sun, we catch a massive blast of energy at around 1700.... yet the "solar wind stream" shows nothing above 380-400km/per second- meaning, this wasn't caused by solar winds or coronal holes. Sunspot 2738 is almost directly earth facing and geoeffective, but while it's a pretty good size, it is magnetically very "simple" and un-complex and has been quiet this time around. Very weird!
I'll keep an eye on it and let you know if any more strangeness happens....
