5 Watts QRP Experiments on 7 MHz - 2017.07.06

in radioamateur •  8 years ago  (edited)

Hello Steemit!

I have a Yaesu FT-450D transceiver in my room and a half-wave Inverted-V antenna for 7 MHz (physical lenght: ~20 m) in my garden 7 meters above the ground.

Today I made some QRP (low power) (5 Watts) contacts on 7 MHz.

I talked to two Croatian stations. Both of them were outside in a nature reserve.
So they are used a portable station.

The first station was actually in a special marine reserve and the second station was in a special ornithological reserve.

Time / Callsign / Frequency / QTH (Location)Distance
08:03 UTC - 9A8GHJ/P - 7144 kHz - 9AFF-0030 - Limski zaljev~ 570 km
08:36 UTC - 9A2SC/P - 7155 kHz - 9AFF-0064 - Dol Dražiblato (vražje Blato)~ 354 km

It's very nice (exciting/interesting) to work stations hundreds (or even thousands) of kilometers away (and also from unique places) with QRP (low power)!

The radioamateur hobby is very versatile!
