Pullman - Rail_Crash c.1963 [Bedford] - Found Footage - 8mm Cinefilm

in railway •  7 years ago  (edited)

Pullman is another video created, sourced from a box of 8mm film that I found in a junk shop. The video is taken from the early 1960’s and shows both steam and diesel trains in and around Bedford railway station. Most interesting is a section showing the derailment of a goods train.

I took the original 8mm reel and created a rough edit of the film. This was processed in Resolume Avenue separating the red, green & blue layers and creating an interesting effect through movement. The music was initially sketched out with Ableton Live and then developed further using Logic Pro.

Interesting effects! I love the way the music sounds like a steam train. That bass is awesome!

Thanks John, this track was in development for quite a while, took a long time to get it how I wanted. The album version is better I reckon...

Incredible video! Really enjoying this one.
