There are always just small amounts of Individuals who take it upon themselves to be on the giving end

Ogochukwu: What is your name and where do you come from?

Firepower :My name is Meghan Naik and I'm from Mangalore, a popular city located on the coast in the Southern part of India.

Ogochukwu :How did your learn about Steemit, and why did you decide to join?

Firepower: I was searching for domain names for a crypto blog and stumbled into Steemit. I joined the old slack and met some interesting people there and once I understood how this platform works I signed up for it and never stopped using it.

Ogochukwu: What surprising lessons have you learnt along the way on your Steemit Journey?

Firepower: I’ve learnt that being consistent can help you succeed. I remained put through Steemit’s low phase and it worked out for me. It’s important to persevere when things are difficult and you will taste success.

Ogochukwu: If you were asked to give an Interpretation of what Steem/ Steemit is all about, what will you say?

Firepower :It’s a great place to share your ideas and thoughts and get rewarded in internet currency by community upvotes.

Ogochukwu: What have you found out to be the biggest misconception about Steemit?

Firepower: I wrote about it my post “How To Deal Effectively with Steemit Skeptics on Facebook and Reddit!” and most people think it’s a ponzi or some internet scam without even spening 2 minutes to learn more about it.

They end up losing on getting on board on what could someday become a game changer in social media. But people who have these misconceptions are usually clueless to what cryptocurrencies are. They need to learn about cryptos first and then dive into Steemit.

Ogochukwu: HF 19 just happened, did it live up to your expectations?

Firepower: For the most part it has lived upto to my expectations. New users are certainly benefitting from it as the curation guilds such as Curie, @acidyo’s OCD project and other guilds are doing a good job.

However, some negative elements on the platform are also milking it by self voting themselves all the time and this needs to stop to help greater distribution of Steem and long term sustenance and growth of the platform.

Ogochukwu: There have been suggestions from some quarters that The Blockchain and Cryptocurrencies as a whole is not meant for everyone, do you think that the Block chain is an Exclusive or an Inclusive technology?

Firepower: It’s difficult to explain these technologies to someone who isn’t well versed with computers and internet technologies. But I think it is overall inclusive even as it might not seem like it today.

There is a learning curve to anything new but in another decade or so, blockchain technology will be part of our daily lives and people will use it without the need to understand the complexity of the underlying technology.

Ogochukwu: If you feel that the Blockchain is an inclusive Technology, how well do you feel that it can be best explained to the Masses?

Firepower: In general blockchain simply records data/transactions permanently especially in cryptos like Bitcoin and once recorded this data cannot be altered.

This allows people to build various applications on this underlying technology and use it various purposes including but not limited to creating internet currencies which when traded on exchanges have a market value.

Ogochukwu: Are there any programmes/Organisations(Companies, NGO’s etc.) powered by the blockchain that you would like to bring to our attention.

Firepower: I can only recommend Steemit at this point in time. However, I would like to see blockchain powered NGOs which can ensure 100% transparency in operations.
