While I dont care so much about my total followers number anymore as I used to when I first started writing here, I was shocked to see how many dead followers I have according to http://steemit.deadfollowers.info/#.
Over 1/3 have not been posting or voting for a months.
When I took my break last month I have noticed a bit less engagement then before my break.
It seems like a lot of people come here and test it for a while and as they notice it is not the fast money grab they thought it would be they leave again.
I would like to see Steemit being promoted more than just for the money and how much you can upvote yourself rather how much you can give to others while earning also.
very true. But it also depends on you own goals using steemit. I like the idea to blog and communicate. Not so much for quick money but to build a tribe of nice people interested in a similar ideal of life (adhd people)

Officially I have more than 250, but most of the time I don't see that much of interaction coming.

id like to see it promoted for the creativity it brings out in people...several of my best friends and followers on here have a similar story... writers who had stopped writing and steemit gave the excuse to go for it again... i am the same.. i spent years throwing my energy and creativity into practical things..i kinda forgot about my love of writing and sharing... steemit brought it back with a vengeance... i have written more poems and articles and stories in the last 3 months than i have in the last 5 years... for me...this makes steemit like a magic potion. maybe how i feel will change..but now this is where i am.
one thing i think could help with these dead users is a bit more love given to new folks entering... i know there are some support systems...but i see people reaching out in there first posts...asking questions trying to figure things out...and just crickets... it happened to me too...but im resilient..and pushed through... to have a mechanism to be more welcoming to those freshly entering the space...i think could help a lot in terms of less dead followers.

I enjoyed writing not my whole life but for several years now but I did it not really regulary. Here with the reward system I try to write everyday.
With the newcomers...yes it might be hard to start but as so many are spaming and plagarism I have the feeling you need to prove yourself a bit. The most is explained somewhere and you can search for it.

In my opinion these are huge numbers but part of the game I guess. Most of us give up on social media way to early before the magic happens. I know you from the beginning and am glad that we both are still here grinding this thing. 👍😉
