Phased Array Atmospheric Plasma Sheild

It does not work too well. It disperses.
Like lightening it would only exist for a second before the atmospheric conditions break down. (there is more energy stored in the cloud/earth then one lightening bolt drains, it could continue if the connection could be sustained)

It is more important to think in terms of waves, patterns and interference.
Electrons do not a solid surface make. In fact, in physicality electrons don't really exist. They are an ocean that moves along the surface of metals. That shininess on metal, is the electron ocean. If you drain it off, it actually looks quite dull.

Also, with this idea type on shields you have to have more energy put into each area of shield, then the incoming attack has energy. Times all of the space.

It is far easier to nullify the attack. What we currently think of as hard science. (things like TNT blowing up) is actually only the base state here in a narrow band between heaven and earth. If you moved the base, TNT would not explode.

Right, That is true that electrons don't really have physicality. They are in quantum field theory just probability of charge in the field.

This article was mostly a quick brain dump so I could finish something else.

I do still think that it would be possible to create an effect like the plasma window with a phased array and the correct patterns of interference. At this point I can't really comment on the energies it would take to stop something like a bullet. If I ever get to this project I will find out then. Plasma windows are able to with stand 1 ATM vs vacuum. Higher in some cases. As the Wikipedia page says though it would still be vulnerable to radiation like lasers and electron beams.
