“I want to assure the country that no culprit will be spared, complete justice will be done. Our daughters will definitely get justice.”
-Narendra Modi, Pradhaan Sewak, India.
Isn’t this obvious that justice will be served. It has been served quite a few times. This time I’m sure it will be served. Served fast, 2019 is at the doorstep.
But is it really the justice we want? Why does the need for justice arise in the first place? No political party, no judiciary, and no constitution can serve justice to the dead. Be it Nirbhaya, be it Asifa. You can not even deliver justice to the survivors, at least leave the dead alone. Stop politicizing the issue is the second request, first is start working on solutions.
Our country, as a whole, has to go through a complete overhaul of conscience. These protests, the candle marches, political gimmicking are not helping at all. The society is even looking worse for just posing and not acting. We need to start at the grass root. Need to build neighborhood watch. Can no more rely on law, police or government to protect our own. We need Vigilantes. We as citizens of this nation need to stand up and work some hours extra to make this society livable for our daughters, sisters, and mothers.
Let us start with a neighborhood watch program and let each house contribute to the cause. No need to take help or approach government for this. Every neighborhood can make its own team, duties can change weekly or daily, make the nights safe. Create a good network. Bust crimes in your area, then, we can pave way for a safe society.
Join the campaign, #IMVIGILANTE and let us try to make this society safe.
