RetroPie Setup Guide- Part 6(Final Step): Adding Games

in raspberrypi •  7 years ago

To add games, first connect a usb stick into another computer and create a folder in it named exactly : "retropie" but without the quotes. Then plug it into the raspberry pi and wait for it to finish doing its thing. The activity light on ur usb will stop flashing. If you don't have activity light or its flashing for a long time, take it out after about 2 minutes. Then, go plug the usb back into your computer. Using your legally acquired roms, place them into the correct folder for roms in the usb folder called retropie.
Once you do that, plug the USB back into the raspberry pie. Wait for the activity lights to stop flashing. And if you don't have activity lights this time, wait about twice the time it took to transfer the roms to your flash drive. Once thats done, pull the USB out, press the start button(or whatever you set as start) on your controller or keyboard, and scroll down to quit. Press that and select to restart emulation station. Wait for it to boot back up, and you should see new emulators. Scroll to them using your dpad and select a game and play it. HAVE FUN!
