I listened to this book for the first time a good half a year ago in the form of an audiobook and found this Scince Fiction novel so good that I listened to it directly again and already four times ...
It seems that not only am I of the opinion that this book is a masterpiece, but also Steven Spielberg, because he has set himself the task of directing this film.
I recommend anyone who chooses Scince Fiction, Fantasy, D & D (Dungeon & Dragons), series like Nightrider or A-Team, and everything that's called Retro (80's) today will, excited and or grew up reading or listening to this book. You will not regret it.

In one place, however, that does not matter, the Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game (short MMORPG) OASIS.
When OASIS inventor and tailor, James Halliday, died in 2040, it changed the world as it exited.
Halliday saw to it that every OASIS player got the news of his death, but at the same time, in a video where he asked partly for Halliday and partly as his well-known OASIS character "Anorac", a so-called Easteregg called for him to be found hidden in the game before his death. In an enigmatic way, the latter also announced as an anorak that 3 keys (a copper, a jade and a transparent crystal key) must be found to tackle the mystery and thus the legacy of the single and childless bachelor J. Halliday.

Wade Watts, a boy who lives in the stags with his aunt and boyfriend, was at the time of Halliday's death in his hiding place, watching cartoons. From the moment he heard of the Easteregg, he was hounded by hunting fever, and he spent every free minute figuring out everything about Halliday to solve the mystery of the Easteregg and escape the poverty of the Stags.
However, Wade has a problem, his Charakter Parzival in OASIS is of a low level and has no money or items that could benefit him on his hunt for what he called the Grail. On the contrary, a journey from the planet "Ludus", a planet where only schools are located, cost money, money that Wade aka Parzival did not possess.
