REARING PIGEON IS ONE OF MY FAVOURITE HOBBIES

Like all I also have some hobbies and one of them is rearing pigeon. I like to rear birds and pigeon is the best bird to rear. I have been rearing pigeons for last three years. A bird doesn’t like to live in a cage. But pigeon is a domestic bird. It becomes very tame within a very short time. I have ten pairs of pigeons both male and female equal in number. They look very beautiful. Female pigeons start laying eggs at the age of 6months. They need a nest which should spacious for them and it should be at a higher place, so that ferocious animals cannot do any harm to the pigeons. A fair of pigeons give 12 pair of eggs in a year. There are many kinds of pigeon like Bhori, King, Fantail, Siraji, Giribaj, Chulli, Homer, Mukki, Potter, Lotton, Gora etc. I feel sometimes they are not only my pets but my friends. The father pigeons and mother pigeons feed their squabs with their bladder liquor keeping beaks into the mouth of their squabs. The pigeon eats wheat, maize, mustard, beans, paddy etc. When in the morning, I go to give food to the pigeon, they fly around me, sometimes they sit on my head, hand or shoulder. They keep me active. I like my all pigeons. They are my friends and now the hobby “rearing pigeons” is a part of my life. This is one of my favourite hobbies.
