Death By Chocolate : 10 Min Microwave Recipe from Heaven!!! (Featuring @thegoldencookie as Author)

Let me take you down a dangerous road (for your hips that is). Today we are exploring the glorious wonder that is chocolate, it's a girls best friend and this recipe will have those unexpected guests thinking that you are a master chef.

The thing I love about this death by chocolate recipe is that it is easy, quick and inexpensive. The plus side is that you also don't need an oven to bake it, so there is no way to burn the cake!!!

Ingredients:

For the cake you will need
125g butter (melted)
15ml of baking powder
25ml coco powder
1 large egg
3/4 cup of cake flour
1 cup of milk
5ml of vanilla essence
a pinch of salt

For the sauce you will need
1/2 a cup of water
1 cup of sugar
25ml coco powder
1 tablespoon of butter

Method

There is no method to this recipe.

  • Mix all the cake ingredients in a bowl until smooth,
  • spray a cake dish with spray n cook or butter the bottom of the cake dish.
  • pour the cake mix into the dish and cover with cling rap
  • put in the microwave for 5 min

Prepare the sauce

  • add all the ingredients in a small pot
  • put on the stove and cook till it boils
  • once boiled pour over the cake after it is done in the microwave
  • Uncovered put the cake back in the microwave for another 5 min.

Serve hot with ice cream or whipped cream

What I Did

As seen in the photo's I took I served mine with chocolate covered strawberries and Magnum Vanilla choc Ice cream

Thank you for the support. This is a really nice recipe for a Sunday lunch dessert especially for a family of 4-6 people. I love how simple it is.

Replace the sugar in that recipe with Splenda or Stevia and it might not be too bad, from an ingredient standpoint. Speaking as a diabetic that is :)

That is a good idea. The recipe also has less sugar than a normal cake so it should be fine but using sweetener would be better. Thank you for the idea :)

For now I'm sharing my favourite dessert recipes. You know what they say "never trust a skinny chef" I will be sharing my boyfriend's favourite meals as my next segment. It will be healthy. Maybe something you would be interested in.
