Today I'll be showing you how to make a grilled fish. And ill be glad if you'd practice at home or else where. Lets go!

Summary

Grilled fish is another technique to make your fresh simple delicious, probably yore already getting tired of the usual fried fish and boiled fish then check this out. The grilled fish recipe is very easy and the ingredients can be warped to suit the available spices and seasoning you have in your kitchen. I make us of the tilapia fish, but the recipe also works pretty well with any appetizing fish.

Ingredients

  • 2 whole croaker/tilapia/sea bream fish (or any other whole fish of your choice)
  • 1 tablespoon thyme of dried orego (optional but aside nice )
  • 1 tablespoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon ground or peanut butter (optional, but you'll like the nutty taste, trust me, just try it)
  • 1 tablespoon ground red chill pepper (or to suit your taste one and half teaspoon ginger paper) preferably ginger.
  • one and half teaspoon salt to taste
  • 1 bouillon /seasoning cube/ stock cube (optional)
  • one and half teaspoon curry powder (optional)
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder or 3 cloves garlic, minced.
  • 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • one and half teaspoon salt to taste.

Tip:

Most of the spices catalogued here are optional, but the pepper, salt (or seasoning cubes) and the oil are the most crucial ones, so feel free to blend all or few of them to your taste.

Preparation and directions

  • Clean the fish in lime or salted water and remove the scales gills and gut. Rinse completely and set aside.
  • In a small bowl, prepare the marinade by mixing all the ingredients together until well incorporated (except the fish of course)
  • Next step, place the fish on a wide aluminum foil ( wide enough to cover the fish properly) and with a sharp knife make some slashes lengthwise on each fish. The slashes will assist the marinade to pervade into the fish and intensify the taste)

Tip:

The number of slashes you make will depend solely on the size & length of the fish you are using.

  • Using your clean hands or a brush, rub the marinade mix on the fish and also inside the spaces made by the slashes. But it's advisable you to use a brush. Make sure that the fish is well closed with the marinade, then cover with the foil and leave in the fridge to rest for 25-30 minutes.

Tip:

Another active way to marinade is to discard the fish into large Ziploc bag and pour the marinade into the bag. Shake fiercely, and leave to rest.

  • warm up the oven grill for 20 minutes while waiting for the fish to soak in the marinade.
  • Take out the fish from the fridge, remove the aluminum foil. Grease the grill with oil and place the fish on the hot grill.
    Leave the fish to cook for 10 to 15 minutes on one side before flipping over to the other side.
    (The time it takes to cook depends on how hot the grill is)

If you want a very tender fish, you can grill the fish inside the foil. The fish is ready when it's beautifully brown on both sides.
