Mince Pie
Recipe Servings: 4

Total Cooking Period: 1 Hour
Ingredients
three hundred fifty gm flour
two hundred twenty five gm butter
one hundred gm caster sugar
Salt to your liking
For your mince meat:
one hundred gm raisins
one hundred gm currants
fifty gm moist sugar
fifty gm citron
twenty gm candied lemon peel
twenty gm candied orange peel
five gm nutmeg
one apple (sliced)
thirty lemon rind
one hundred ml brandy
Instructions:
1.Blend all the ingredients for mincemeat together and use it as a filling.
2.To make the pastry, rub two hundred twenty five grams cold, diced butter into three hundred fifty grams plain flour and mix in one hundred grams golden caster sugar with a pinch of salt.
3.Mix the pastry into a ball (don't put liquid) and knead it briefly.
4.The dough will be fairly firm, you can use the dough immediately, or refrigerate it for later use.
5.Heat uo the oven to 180C as well as line patty tins.
6.Put small sized balls of pastry into each hole and spoon mincemeat into the pies.
7.Now take slightly smaller balls of pastry than before and pat them in between your hands to make round
8.Top the pies with their lids, pressing the edges gently together
9.Brush the top of the pies with milk and bake for twenty minutes until golden.
10.Leave it to cool in the tin for five minutes and remove it on a wire rack.
11.To offer, lightly dust it with icing sugar.
