Better Than Storebought Homemade Pizza Sauce

in recipes •  7 years ago

Pizza is my absolute favorite food. I said it so now it's out there.

My kids are big fans too but it is literally the food I would pick if I had to pick one food to eat the rest of my life!

Yum:)

There is no store bought crust in our house since I figured out that it is super easy to make a crust( I will do that post another day) but usually I buy a good quality pizza sauce.

Tonight I had everything ready and realized I was out of sauce!

We don't live close to any grocery stores so I decided it would probably be a good time to try out a sauce recipe that I have had for a little while.

It turned out awesome:)

Ingredients

1 (6 oz.) can Tomato Paste

1 (15 oz.) Tomato Sauce

2 Cloves Garlic, Minced

2 t. Oregano, Crushed

1 T. Italian Seasoning

1 t. Paprika

1 t. Sugar

1-2 t. Salt(to your taste)

1 t. Onion Powder

This is a one step recipe:)

Mix all ingredients together and let chill for a few minutes before using to let flavors meld together. This can be stored in the fridge for up to 5 days or you can freeze for up to 3 months. Put in an air tight container to store either way you decide to store.

This is a very thick sauce that won't make your crust soggy while baking. My family loved it and I will never buy another jar of store bought sauce!

Yay for pizza!!!

Looks delish!

Thank you! We loved it apparently because it was all gone this morning haha:)

I like all those spices you put into the sauce..I might try this with fresh onion instead of the powder form...

Can't wait for your pizza dough recipe :)

I can't put lots of fresh onion in stuff because my husband hates onions haha. I will probably make it for lunch Monday so I can use up the rest of the sauce that way I can post my pizza dough recipe:)

haha so not only green onions but the entire onion family he hates!! ;)
