So I kinda imagined up this recipe a few years ago and we love it! The key to the yumminess is using a root beer with real sugar...none of that high fructose corn syrup garbage. We like Frostie. It's local and delicious. So here's what you do...
Throw a pork roast in the crockpot with a bottle of root beer until it's easily shredded. When it's done, drain off the liquid and add a bottle of BBQ sauce and a bottle of root beer. Easy as pie!
Now, I like coleslaw on my pulled pork so for that I take 1 cup of mayo, 1/2 bottle of root beer, and salt and paprika to taste. Then I mix in a bag of shredded cabbage and let it sit for about an hour. It may get a little soupy so just drain off the extra liquid.
This stuff is amazing!
